From Search Queries to AI Citations

168 to 292 AI Overview keywords

Allucent gained visibility across 124 additional keywords cited within Google AI Overviews.

16,902 to 21,581 organic sessions

Organic sessions increased by 4,679 during the five-month engagement.
Allucent began appearing in AI-generated answers for high-intent CRO, therapeutic expertise, and clinical trial research queries.

Background

Allucent is a full-service contract research organisation providing end-to-end clinical trial solutions and therapy area expertise to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Its prospective buyers increasingly use AI platforms to research CRO partners, therapeutic capabilities, and clinical trial solutions before visiting a company website.

Allucent had strong subject matter expertise, but its content was not structured around how buyers searched and asked questions within these emerging discovery environments.

The Challenge

Allucent’s organic visibility had started to plateau despite the depth of its clinical expertise.

Existing content lacked concise summaries, structured FAQs, and direct answers that AI systems could easily retrieve.

Keyword planning was also centred on conventional transactional searches such as clinical trial CRO and oncology CRO services.

These terms remained important, but they did not reflect the more specific questions buyers were asking AI platforms.

As a result, Allucent had limited presence across AI Overviews and LLM responses for high intent clinical trial conversations.

The Strategy

FTA Global combined traditional keyword research with LLM prompt based research.

The team mapped the questions buyers were asking when evaluating CRO partners, including:

Which CROs have strong expertise in paediatric clinical trials?

Which CROs can support cardiometabolic programmes through Phase 2?

Which CROs are suitable for mid sized pharmaceutical companies?

These prompts became the foundation for content planning and on page optimization across blogs, service pages, and therapy area pages.

The Execution

Implementation followed four connected stages across five months.

Prompt research

FTA Global identified conversational queries across CRO selection, therapeutic expertise, and clinical trial planning.

On page optimization

TLDR summaries were added to priority pages to provide clear, extractable answers.

FAQ sections were developed around genuine LLM prompts rather than generic supporting questions.

Content creation

The flagship Clinical Trial Trends article was structured with clear headings, direct answers, supporting data, and AI friendly formatting.

AI visibility tracking

Performance was monitored across Google AI Overviews and LLM responses to understand which pages and topics were earning citations.

The Clinical Trial Trends content began appearing in AI Overviews for relevant high intent searches.

The Outcome

Allucent moved from limited AI visibility to being cited during important clinical research and CRO evaluation conversations.

74% growth in AI Overview keywords -Allucent expanded from 168 to 292 keywords cited across Google AI Overviews.

27.7% organic traffic growth - Organic sessions increased from 16,902 to 21,581 during the engagement.

Allucent appeared in AI Overviews for Clinical Trial Trends and Clinical Trial Trends 2024 to 2025.

The brand also surfaced in LLM responses covering paediatric clinical trial expertise, cardiometabolic programmes, and CROs for mid sized pharmaceutical companies.

The strategy created a repeatable framework that can be extended across additional services and therapeutic areas.

What do we learn?

Clinical expertise alone does not guarantee visibility in AI generated answers.

Content must reflect the way buyers frame questions, compare providers, and evaluate expertise.

Allucent already had the authority.

FTA Global made that authority easier for AI systems to retrieve, interpret, and cite.

The shift from keyword led publishing to prompt led content helped Allucent enter clinical trial conversations before prospective buyers reached the website.
